For decades, the solution to ransom demands has been to steadfastly refuse to negotiate with the terrorists who made them. That course of action was a long, difficult and costly one.
This is not a complicated equation, folks — if we legitimize these criminals by negotiating with them, or worse yet, yield to them, it will only open the door to a flood of similar actions.
